Cam

April
23rd,1965-May 16,1998.
This page is
devoted to our brother and son, Cam, whose life was snuffed away by a careless
driver. A driver who was 81 years old, deaf and partially blind and was still able
to get a drivers license. This man's name is Osborne Mehlenbacher of Cayuga, Ontario. Despite the fact he killed Cam by going through a stop sign he was
still only given a charge of careless driving and a fine of $250. Even if guilty he
is lucky he is 81 because he will never go to jail even though a younger person would. He
is presently fighting this in court, prolonging our families suffering and mourning.
He is trying to make it look like Cam was at fault despite the fact that HE pulled
in front of 2 motorcycles and a car. He has hired engineers to try and prove that
Cam was at fault, all the while putting our family through absolute hell. It is too
bad he doesn't have a conscience!!! May he suffer with my brother's blood on his
hands!!
The Laws for the
licensing of elderly drivers need to be made stricter. Driving is a privilege NOT a right as so many people seem to think. It is not
politically correct to take away a seniors privileges in out society but that needs to
change!! Before more people die at the hands of an incompetent senior driver. For
more information on this please click the elderly car.

Cam had a passion for motorcycles.
These had to be Harley Davidson motorcycles. As a licensed mechanic, Cam was able to
keep his bikes running well. He kept them in mint condition and often won awards for
his bikes.

Today April 19th,
2000, Osborne Mehlenbacher of
Cayuga, Ontario, was found guilty
of careless driving. The judge stated clearly that he went through a stop sign
resulting in Cam's death. Finally a start to closure. He was fined $800 and
had his lincense suspended. A small fine after the damage he caused!!!
May 16th,
2000 is the 2 year anniversary of Cam's death. His killer, Osborne Mehlenbacher of Cayuga, Ontario,
had his trial and court appearance on May 21st, 1999. He pleaded not guilty although
all evidence pointed towards guilty. He is a confused, frail man that should never
have been driving. He should admit his mistake and stop making it worse by lying or
having his representatives lie for him. Our family wants closure and as it stands
the trial was not finished. Today, February 4th, 2000 We heard the final summations
by the lawyers and the crown did a great job. The Lawyer for Mr. Mehlenbacher tried
to confuse everyone with his bull shit about the reconstruction engineers report. It
is amazing to see him lie and wonder how he can sleep at night. The judge has said
he will give his final judgment April 19th, 2000 in courtroom 2. We are sure he will
give us the right judgment at that time.
Incidentally, Mr.
Mehlenbacher was not present as he suffered a heart attack. I don't wish a heart
attack on anyone but I am sure he is not suffering as much as Cam did!!!!!
